Shakopee Transit offers fixed, hourly circulating service to major civic, retail, and population centers within the City of Shakopee. Circulator Route 496W serves the Western Shakopee and Route 496E serves the East side. Just hop on these mini-buses to run your local errands and visit with your friends along the way.
Most time-points, that are in the brouchure, have a sign or a
bench for your convenience. Buses will also stop at any safe
point along the route in you "wave the bus down." Look for
496 Circulator on the digital sign which is located on the front
and right side of the bus.
Shakopee Transit operates Monday through Friday from 6:40AM till 5:30PM except on New Year's Day,
Martin Luther King Jr. Day, President's Day, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Veteran's Day, Thanksgiving (Thursday-Friday) and Christmas Day.
Bus Fare is paid to the driver when boarding the bus. The fare to ride any circulator is $1.00 per person, including children and $.50 for seniors over the age of 65. Please have correct currency as the drivers cannot make change. If you don't like to carry cash, a punch card can be purchased for circulator use only for $20.00.
A free transfer will be given to you at Kohls to get you to your destination if you should have to transfer to a different bus.
